Sales Policies
Closed Rabbitry Located in North Central Florida.
All of our rabbits are vaccinated against Pastuerella using the Bunnyvac vaccine.
Sales Policies:
- I reserve the right to amend this policy. Last updated July 15, 2021.
- Bunnies will be ready to go to their new homes at eight weeks of age.
- I will only sell animals that I believe to be in good health at the time of sale. All sales are final and buyer is responsible for looking over the rabbit for final approval before taking him/her home. I am not responsible for veterinary bills once the rabbit leaves my care (this includes rabbits released to a transporter prior to reaching their owner.)
- Buyer is responsible for arranging pick-up of the rabbit or arranging for transport. Please see my transporter policy.
- Buyer is responsible for bringing a carrier to take their new pet home safely.
- I reserve the right to refuse a sale to anyone for any reason or to cancel a sale for any reason.
- Buyer is responsible for caring for the rabbit and keeping him/her safe. I do not sell rabbits as pets for children and I do not recommend leaving the care of rabbits in the hands of children. Any animal can bite or scratch under the right circumstances and children are not always gentle. It is always the responsibility of adults in the home to ensure the rabbit is fed a healthy diet and provided clean water and housed in a clean cage or living quarters.
- I operate a closed rabbitry for the health and safety of my rabbits and myself. I will meet prospective buyers in a public location that has been mutually agreed upon.
- Pedigrees will be provided with all rabbits at the time of sale, unless previously disclosed as a non-pedigreed rabbit or a rabbit being sold without a pedigree. Rabbits sold as "pet quality" will often not come with a pedigree.
- I am available to answer questions when I am not working or caring for the rabbits (and my other pets) or sleeping. I am a hobby breeder and I do work full-time outside of the home in order to provide for myself and my pets (I do not profit from selling animals.) Please be patient if you have a question when I am otherwise engaged. I will answer questions as soon as it is possible for me to do so. If you have an emergency, please contact a rabbit-savvy veterinarian.
- I do my best to sex rabbits accurately but mistakes can happen. I do not offer refunds for mis-sexed rabbits.
Transporters: I will work with transporters, based on my availability at the time. I will not work with transporters that have established a poor reputation and I reserve the right to decline working with an unknown transporter.
- I live approximately one hour from Gainesville, Florida and can meet transporters at that stop.
- Transporters are not always on time so the days and times that I can accommodate transport are limited based on my work schedule.
- If transport falls through or the meet-up time or location changes to one that either seller or buyer cannot attend, it is the buyers responsibility to contact seller for other arrangements or to discuss canceling the sale.
- Seller is not responsible for the condition of the rabbit after handing him/her over to the transporter. Rabbits are delicate creatures and may experience a loss of condition during transport. Also, when a lot of animals are housed together in a small area, it is possible for illnesses to spread regardless of the precautions taken by the transporter.
- Remember, since you will not be there to personally inspect your new bunny, you are entrusting this important task to the transporter. A good transporter will look the rabbit over prior to accepting him/her onto the transport vehicle and will not accept a rabbit that shows signs of illness.
- The cost of transport is the responsibility of the buyer.
Refund policy:
- Deposits are only refundable for rabbits up to the age of eight weeks (prior to going to their new home.) Rabbits held beyond eight weeks of age may be eligible for a partial refund, after a $5 per day boarding fee has been deducted from the funds. Rabbits that are already beyond eight weeks of age at the time a deposit is placed will accrue the daily boarding fee after five days. Most sellers do not refund deposits at all so I feel that this is fair. The $5 daily boarding fee goes towards the care of holding a rabbit that could have gone to another home. Only funds remaining after the boarding fee has been deducted are eligible for refund and are subject to additional terms of the refund policy. *Boarding fees only apply to failed sales or a rabbit that is being held longer than originally agreed upon.
- Once the buyer takes possession of the rabbit, no refunds will be issued unless a licensed (rabbit-experienced) veterinarian documents an illness or serious defect that made the rabbit not fit for sale at the time of purchase and that the seller should have been aware of. This clause protects the buyer from intentional misrepresentation of the health of a rabbit. If the rabbit was sold as healthy in good faith then no refund will be issued. Documentation of a qualifying illness must be submitted to me within 10 days of the sale, along with the request for a refund or exchange. Refunds will be limited to the purchase price of the rabbit. I do not reimburse for veterinary care or examinations. If buyer prefers a replacement rabbit instead of a refund, a replacement rabbit may be offered pending availability of a comparable rabbit within 60 days of request. A refund or exchange may be conditional on return of the original rabbit (this is something that would be handled on a case-by-case basis.) I do not refund for illnesses or injuries that occurred after the rabbit left my care (this includes any illnesses or injuries that may have been happened during transport.)
- I do not offer refunds for a change in buyer circumstances or loss of interest in the new pet. I will take the rabbit back at any time (without refund) or I will assist in finding the rabbit a new home, if requested.
- If a refund (of any portion of the deposit or the sale price of the rabbit) is warranted, refunds will only be issued back to the original buyer and will only be sent to the payment method originally used. If the original method of payment is no longer accessible to the buyer then a digital payment will be issued and a signed refund agreement required (as proof that a refund was provided.)
Prices range from:
$250 for Mini Rezas (an arched rabbit with a satinized rex coat.)
$200 for rex or satin coat that carries the other trait.
$125-150 for rabbits that have normal coats. They may carry satin or rex or both.
Exceptional animals may command a higher price.
Strictly pet quality animals may be available for a lesser charge to the right home.
